The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM is a high-performance, water-resistant L-series ultra wide-angle zoom lens. It improves vastly on the performance of its predecessor with a shorter beginning focal length, better close focusing capability and improved peripheral brightness in the image corners.

New coatings minimise ghosting and flare. The internal focus design ensures that the front element does not rotate during focusing and zooming, convenient for circular polariser filters. In addition, the lens is fully sealed for dust and moisture resistance, featuring an electronic diaphragm with circular blades for natural looking background blur effects. Distortions and aberrations are remarkably small for a lens of such brilliant capabilities and new AF algorithms are incorporated for fast and quiet auto-focusing.
